Better rates,
steady work.

If you use us most months, retainers discount your per-hour rate, fix your monthly bill, and lock the rate in across every Work Order. Same engineers, same Portal, same workflow.

§ 01 · Why retain

The ad-hoc rate is fine for one-offs.

If you're raising Work Orders most months, you're paying full freight on hours you could have bundled.

01 · Rate

Lower hourly

Up to £13/hour off the standard rate. Pro saves £234/month on 18 hours versus ad-hoc.

02 · Bill

Predictable invoice

Same line on your invoice every month. Easy to budget, easy to defend to finance.

03 · Hours

No OOH premium

2am, weekends, bank holidays. No surcharge. Out-of-hours work draws from your allowance at the included rate.

04 · Overflow

Overage stays cheap

Run over your allowance and the extra hours are still below the standard rate. Never bumped to a penalty rate.

§ 02 · Tiers

Three tiers. Pick the allowance.

Hours bill per engineer (1 hour by 2 engineers = 2 hours used). Unused hours don't roll over. Pick the tier you'll actually consume.

Bespoke

Custom retainers, built around your year.

The three tiers above are the off-the-shelf options. If the shape of your work is bigger, broader, or just different, we'll build a plan around it.

  • Warehouse m³ allowance rolled in
  • Regular consumables included
  • Annual commitment, better rates
  • Larger allowances — 30h, 50h, more
§ 03 · Workflow

How it works.

No new tools. Same Portal, same Work Orders, better rates.

  1. 01

    Pick a tier

Look at your last few months of usage. Pick the tier that matches your typical month.

  2. 02

    Raise Work Orders

Same Portal, same flow. Each visit's billable hours come off your allowance.

  3. 03

    Overflow billed cheap

Used more than the allowance? Extra hours bill at your tier's overage rate — still under ad-hoc.

  4. 04

    Renew or move tier

After the minimum term, switch tier or cancel any month. We'll suggest a move based on actual usage.

§ 04 · Heads up

Things to know.

Flagged up front so there are no surprises later.

Allowance

Hours don't roll over

Use it or lose it within the calendar month. Pick the tier that matches your typical month, not your peak month — overage stays cheap, unused hours are wasted.

Counting

Hours count per engineer

If two engineers attend for an hour, that's 2 hours off your allowance. whole-hour billing per engineer.

Term

Minimum, then rolling

Lite is 3 months, Plus is 6, Pro is 12. After that, cancel any month in the Portal — it ends at the close of that calendar month. Upgrades prorate; downgrades take effect the following month.

Incidentals

Parts and tolls separate

Parking and tolls charged at cost where applicable. Spare parts pulled from your Warehouse billed separately. No VAT on any of it.

§ 05 · FAQs

Common questions.

Which tier should we pick?

Look at the last three months of Smart Hands usage and average it. Round down rather than up — overage is cheap, unused hours are wasted. If you're still unsure, send us your numbers and we'll suggest the right tier.

What happens after the minimum term?

You're on monthly rolling. Cancel any month in the Portal and it ends at the close of that calendar month. Upgrade mid-month and the difference is prorated; downgrades take effect from the following month.

Do retainer hours cover out-of-hours work?

Yes. 2am call-outs, weekends, bank holidays — all draw from your allowance at the included rate. There's no out-of-hours surcharge on retainers.
